Briefly describe your role.
I am the Managing Partner of Sorainen and lead our Corporate and M&A practice in Latvia. I’m passionate about being deeply involved in both client work and law firm leadership, and I thrive when I can engage with a wide variety of matters. I’ve been with Sorainen for nearly half my lifetime, which speaks to how much I enjoy the work we do and the impact we’re able to make. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of advising on some of Latvia’s most significant M&A and private equity transactions, and I remain actively involved in shaping the legal and business landscape through academic work, legislative advocacy, and support for private equity and start-up development.
Your firm is hosting WLG | summit Riga ’25 soon! What are you most looking forward to about the event from a host perspective?
Sorainen is honored to host the WLG | summit in Latvia and looks forward to showcasing the Baltic region as a rising hub for digital innovation, green energy, and regional security. We’re excited to engage with global legal leaders, foster cross-border collaboration, and explore how law firms can collectively shape the future of international business and investment. In addition, Latvia is a beautiful country, rich with well-preserved nature and outstanding human talent – we look forward to showing our guests some of it and inspiring them to return to our region for longer travels.
You will also be a panelist for Friday’s session, ESG Ripple Effect: What Global Regulations Mean for Your Practice & Clients. What topics do you look forward to discussing?
This is an interesting time to discuss ESG, right? With the diverse experiences of the panelists coming together, I’m really looking forward to a discussion that brings more clarity to which areas of the broad ESG spectrum law firms should focus on and invest in over the next few years.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I’m a true family person, so I try to spend most of my spare time with my husband and two sons. Traveling, hiking, alpine skiing, and enjoying a good concert or contemporary art are our favourite things to do.
Some of my spare time goes into charity work. Together with my two sisters, I founded a mental health foundation that ensures access to specialist care for youngsters who would otherwise not be able to afford it.
On rare solo moments, one would mostly see me with a book or playing piano, or just taking a long walk along the beach and enjoying the view of the Baltic Sea—an excellent way to regain calmness after a more stressful period.
