Ignis sells SME Energy Supply Division, Ignis Luz, to Engie

Cuatrecasas has advised Ignis on selling its SME energy supply division, Ignis Luz, to Engie. From a strategic perspective, in addition to placing value on the success of its energy supplier, the transaction will enable the Ignis Group to strengthen its position as a vertically integrated energy company, focusing its energy supply and solutions activities on large consumers and new energy demand, like data centers.

The transaction, announced on March 26, is subject to the relevant regulatory approvals and is expected to be completed by mid-2026.

Headquartered in Madrid, Ignis Luz has experienced significant growth since its launch in 2021, and in less than five years, has become a leading supplier for SMEs on the Spanish market. It has a portfolio of over 50,000 clients across Spain, with a particular focus on businesses.
