Jamie Goh Shearn Delamore & Co. (Member firm for Malaysia) WLG | regional Bangkok ’24 attendee and first-time delegate in Riga Connect on LinkedIn
Briefly describe your role.
I am a Partner in the Employment & Industrial Relations practice at Shearn Delamore & Co. I counsel clients on a wide range of workplace issues, including employment disputes (through negotiation or court), compliance with local labor law, and data protection matters. Whilst helping employers navigate complex employment landscapes to ensure businesses are compliant, I also advise on the implementation of fair and sustainable workplace environments.
You will be a first-time delegate at WLG | summit Riga '25, and you attended WLG | regional Bangkok '24. How did participating in the regional meeting influence your perspective on WLG or shape how you plan to approach the summit in Riga?
Participating in the 2024 regional meeting provided a valuable platform to engage with fellow members of World Law Group and gain insights into the shared challenges and evolving priorities across jurisdictions. The exchanges at the regional level have broadened my understanding of how member firms are innovating within their respective jurisdictions while upholding shared professional standards. It reinforced the importance of collective expertise and the strength of our global network in navigating the increasingly complex legal and regulatory environment.
For the upcoming summit, I look forward to continued engagement with colleagues across the World Law Group network in a meaningful and focused setting. Apart from absorbing insights, I am keen to explore strategies on the future-proofing of legal services in the advent of technological advancement, which I believe is a critical area for all member firms.
Outside of work, what is something you are passionate about or love to do?
Binge-watching Korean dramas, discovering new places (whether it’s a tucked-away cafe or a city I’ve never been to), karaoke sessions, and spending quality time with family and friends.
