Locke Lord and Zhong Lun Partner on IP Expansion

Following her speaking opportunity on a World Law Group (WLG) Intellectual Property Group panel in Bali, Locke Lord LLP referred a U.S.-based client, PetFive, to Ping Gu of Zhong Lun Law Firm to manage its expansion into the Chinese market.

The collaboration began when Jeff Jefferson at Locke Lord introduced the client, who was seeking a full-service firm in China. Following a consultation between Zhong Lun and the client’s General Counsel to align on business plans and IP strategies, the client transitioned all Chinese trademark matters to Zhong Lun. Locke Lord coordinated with the client’s previous counsel to ensure a seamless transfer of files.

The member firms have since provided ongoing counseling on business operations and trademark filings. Future work for the client is expected to include anti-counterfeiting enforcement and strategic business transaction counseling.
