Locke Lord and Zhong Lun Partner on IP Expansion
Following a World Law Group (WLG) Intellectual Property Group panel in Bali, where Ping Gu of Zhong Lun Law Firm served as a featured speaker, Locke Lord LLP referred its client, PetFive, to Zhong Lun for specialized support in the Chinese market.
The engagement began after Jeff Jefferson of Locke Lord introduced the client, who required a full-service firm to manage its IP portfolio in China. After a follow-up consultation between Ping Gu and the client’s General Counsel to align on business plans and potential intellectual property issues, the client transitioned all Chinese trademark matters to Zhong Lun. Locke Lord coordinated directly with the client’s previous counsel to ensure a seamless transfer of all legal files.
To date, the collaboration has resulted in successful trademark filings and ongoing counseling on business operations in China. Future work is expected to include anti-counterfeiting enforcement and strategic business transaction counseling.
