Francisca Peroni
Gross Brown
First-Time Delegate, WLG | summit Seattle '25
Briefly describe your role.
I am a Partner in the Corporate and Commercial Department of Gross Brown, advising clients on corporate and commercial matters with a strong focus on mergers and acquisitions and complex contractual arrangements. I am based in our Madrid office, where I work closely with clients investing in Paraguay, supporting cross-border transactions and strategic investments, particularly in sectors such as forestry, telecommunications, and financial services.
At your first WLG summit in Seattle, what stood out to you most in terms of how firms approach cross-border corporate or finance work within the network?
What stood out to me most was the highly collaborative and pragmatic approach taken by WLG member firms in cross-border corporate and finance matters. There is a clear emphasis on combining deep local knowledge with a strong understanding of clients' commercial objectives, which is especially valuable when structuring transactions in emerging and high-growth jurisdictions such as Paraguay. The discussions at the summit highlighted that the member firms of WLG have a strong ability to coordinate seamlessly across jurisdictions, adding tangible value and improving client experience.
Looking ahead to 2026, what’s one trending topic in law you’re most interested in seeing develop, and one part of your practice you’re excited to focus on?
I am particularly interested in the evolving regulatory framework of the Unified European Company and its potential as a strategic tool for cross-border investment within the EU. From a practice perspective, I am excited to focus on cross-border M&A and investment transactions into Paraguay, which are likely to flourish given the country's recent investment-grade status.
