SyCipLaw Named Philippine Firm of the Year at IFLR Awards

SyCipLaw has been named the Philippine Law Firm of the Year at this year’s IFLR Asia-Pacific Awards, marking its eighth such recognition since the awards were established in 2013. Winners were announced at a gala ceremony held on April 16, 2025 in Hong Kong. 

The Firm also had two transactions shortlisted for deals of the year:  the San Miguel Global Power (SMGP) senior perpetual securities for Debt and Equity-linked Deal of the Year, led by Partner Aaron Roi B. Riturban; and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) PPP financing, led by Senior Partner Vicente D. Gerochi IV.

Last year, SyCiplaw’s J&T Express Initial Public Offering (IPO), led by Partner Arlene M. Maneja, was recognized as the Equity Deal of the Year at the IFLR Asia-Pacific Awards 2024. J&T Express is a major player in the logistics industry, operating in Southeast Asia, China, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Mexico, Brazil, and Egypt. The offering was considered the Hong Kong Stock Exchange’s second-largest IPO in 2023.

The IFLR Asia-Pacific Awards are annual recognitions presented by the International Financial Law Review (IFLR). These awards recognize outstanding achievements in legal advisory work within the Asia-Pacific region, specifically in finance, capital markets, mergers & acquisitions, project finance, and restructuring.
