Taylor Wessing Düsseldorf goes ÖKOPROFIT: Act for Impact
Our contribution to sustainable business with ÖKOPROFIT
Sustainability often starts with small steps – and has a big impact. ???? By participating in ÖKOPROFIT Düsseldorf, we are implementing concrete measures for environmental and climate protection directly in the workplace. ???? After Hamburg, Düsseldorf will be our second ÖKOPROFIT-certified location – another step toward consistently and effectively living our corporate responsibility.
Taylor Wessing's Düsseldorf office is participating in ÖKOPROFIT, a nationwide environmental and climate protection program that supports companies in saving energy, using resources efficiently, and operating in an environmentally friendly manner.
The aim of the program is to combine ecological responsibility with economic thinking. The focus is on workshops, practical implementation measures, individual consulting, and interdisciplinary exchange with other participating companies. At the end of the program, all participating companies are certified.
Our Düsseldorf team, led by our Head of Sustainability, has already initiated the first concrete measures:
- Raising employee awareness: Internal communication campaigns and measures have strengthened environmental awareness – an important first step toward long-term change.
- Energy efficiency in everyday life: Clear labeling of light switches, especially in the reception area, reduces unnecessary power consumption and promotes lighting that is tailored to needs. In addition, the basic temperature of the heating system has been reduced by two degrees Celsius to save resources. We have also raised the temperature in the server rooms to save cooling energy.
- Resource conservation in the office: We are currently systematically evaluating options for a paperless office and energy-efficient workplace design.
- Sustainable everyday meetings: Even small details count – such as switching to more sustainable snacks and beverages in our meeting rooms. The goal is to purchase more certified organic, fair trade, and vegan snacks and reduce waste by using unpackaged products.
In January 2025, we hosted the workshop "Ideas instead of waste,” ("Einfälle statt Abfälle") an inspiring exchange with over 30 participants. Together, we worked on solutions for better waste prevention at seven stations – with many "aha” moments for our team.
The mid-term review in February 2025 provided an opportunity to publicize our progress and exchange ideas with other companies about effective measures and next steps. Participating in ÖKOPROFIT not only strengthens our internal awareness of sustainability, but also makes us part of a forward-looking network of committed companies in the region.
We are convinced that sustainability begins with the details – and grows through cooperation. Through our participation in ÖKOPROFIT, we are making an active contribution to climate protection in the city of Düsseldorf and consistently developing our corporate responsibility.
