WLG Collaboration Story - Wallenius + Alfa Laval
Swedish member Setterwalls is working with Wallenius, one of the largest car carriers in the world, on a joint venture ("Oceanbird”) to develop the world's biggest sailing cargo ships. Håkan Fohlin noted that plans for the vessel include 360° rotating telescopic wing sails, an average speed of 10 knots, and the eventual expansion of the design's application to cruise liners. The JV triggered merger control regulations and involved eight WLG member firms. Håkan summed up his experience working with eight other member firms—speed and quality!
