In 2021, Bahas, Gramatidis & Partners (Greece) launched the fundraising project "Replanting the Olive Groves of Ancient Olympia”. The Ancient Olympia area suffered catastrophic fires resulting in the destruction of 450,000 olive trees. Bahas, Gramatidis & Partners, with the support of donors, was able to donate 135,000 new olive trees to help the 1,770 affected farmers and their families. Led by Yanos Gramatidis, the project helped restore the economy, environment, and prestige of Ancient Olympia.

This year, Yanos Gramatidis, Partner of Bahas, Gramatidis & Partners, Greece, was the initiator of the fundraising project "Replanting the Traditional Olive Grove of Amfissa"

Through this project, 30,000 olive trees and their first compost were donated to the affected farmers for the planting season of March 2023, enabling them to replace their burnt olive groves, while a few thousand additional olive trees and their compost will be donated in the next planting season of September 2023.

At the same time, three very important boreholes for the affected area were rebuilt and given to the farmers to irrigate their olive groves, while the agricultural engineers of the project gave instructions to ensure the survival of the new olive trees during the summer season.

Finally, the funds raised by the donors also allowed the project to initiate an educational program for the local farmers, starting in June 2023. Through workshops, training sessions and access to modern farming techniques, the project will provide local farmers with the knowledge and skills necessary to maximize their yields and improve their overall farming practices.

This donation has had and will continue to have a significant impact on the lives of local farmers and the overall well-being of the Amfissa region.

At the same time, it preserves the rich cultural heritage of the region, as the traditional olive grove of Amfissa is one of the oldest in Greece (dates back 3,000 years), the largest continuous olive grove in the Balkans and is considered a hallmark of the Delphian Landscape, a site protected by Unesco for its cultural heritage.
