Gowling WLG has been recognised as a Best Workplace for Women™ by Great Place to Work UK®. The firm has been ranked 8th in the Super Large size category and is among 114 UK-based organisations recognised.
Gowling WLG's submission highlighted the work the firm has been doing, including a research project to investigate what more the firm needs to do to ensure that women reach partnership and thrive once there.
Great Place to Work UK® also noted the positive contribution the firm's Family Matters and Thrive networks make in helping build and cultivate a healthy workplace culture. The Thrive network is focused on helping to promote gender equality in the workplace. The network is working to drive gender equality throughout the firm that will help to achieve our aspirations of better balance at the top. The Family Matters network supports parents and carers across the firm. It offers lunch and learn sessions on a wide range of topics and helps make the firm more inclusive for parents and carers.
Kate Swaine, partner mentor for Gowling WLG's Thrive Network, said: "Our placing as a Best Workplace for Women is positive recognition of the work we have been doing to accelerate gender equity across our firm. We have made good progress, not only in increasing the number of women in our partnership, but also in offering support and resources to our people to enable them to develop their careers. We are not complacent and the work continues. I am confident that our gender equality work will continue to build on the progress we have made to date and am excited to see the impact of this as we move forward."
