1. Briefly describe your practice.
I am PPU Colombia's lead partner for Infrastructure and Projects. I mainly advise financial entities and privately owned companies in infrastructure projects, project finance transactions, and several disputes with State entities.2. Share with us something new and interesting about your firm (new practice area, implementation of new technology, etc.).
Since 2019, we have focused on productivity by using three new tools that have completely changed our practice. First, we created templates and corporate-style buttons with DotOffice, a well-known European software company. Second, we implemented DotOffice Proofing Tools, allowing our associates to deliver high-quality documents to our clients while checking cross-references and definition errors in seconds. Lastly, we began using the DotOffice SmartBuilder tool to quickly and intuitively draft documents through a programmer within Microsoft Word.Since 2022, we have used a taxonomy tool for model documents, acquired software for closing transactions, and automated our due diligence report, all seeking economies of scale.
3. Have you had any recent client, marketing, or other collaboration with a WLG member firm(s)?
We highly value being a member of WLG. We trust all other members to provide our clients with the highest quality advice. Thus, we constantly send referrals whenever we find ourselves with clients seeking advice abroad.
We generated an in-house app called PPU Network, allowing our partners to easily access the entire list of member law firms of WLG and their contact information, along with a template e-mail to make a straightforward first approach.
4. What do you like to do in your free time (hobby)?
I grew up playing tennis, and I still do my best to play daily.
