Baltics: Sorainen Publishes Sustainability Report

We have published the first sustainability report of Sorainen, covering the procedures we have introduced and the initiatives we have undertaken to make the firm act in a more sustainable way in 2021-2022.

The areas covered in the report are business and clients, people, society, and environment, introducing the conscious steps Sorainen has taken in all of those areas.

“I hope that this report will not only shed light on our sustainability and ESG initiatives, but will also encourage other businesses in our region to promote a sustainability mindset, forge partnerships, and build sustainable businesses,” says Laimonas Skibarka, Managing Partner of Sorainen in his opening comments. “Our region’s long-term prosperity depends to a significant extent on the commitments and initiatives being undertaken now.”

Four pillars: clients, people, society, environment

To better serve our clients, we have a superior system of requirements, checks and procedures in place to ensure legally compliant and ethical behaviour, IT security, data protection, and client confidentiality. As of this year, clients can also turn to us if they wish to improve their ESG policies.

For our staff, we have tried to create an environment that is inclusive, empowering and safe, with many incentives such as flexible working options and extra days off available for all team members. We don’t tolerate discrimination and seek to improve gender balance at all career levels.

While taking care of our people and clients, we also seek to contribute to the society through various activities, such as pro bono services, volunteering, sharing knowledge with students, and improving legislative environment. This year, Ukraine has been the focus of our pro bono work and donations.

To reduce our impact on environment, we have opted for more sustainable daily choices – such as avoiding non-recyclable materials and using energy-saving equipment – and wish to do much more in the coming years as we are in the process of assessing our environmental impact.
