The Real Estate & Construction Group brings together lawyers who specialize in advising and guiding owners, developers, lenders, investors, contractors, and other stakeholders as well as regulators through the intricate realms of real estate transactions and construction projects.
They advise on a wide range of services, including the purchase, sale, and leasing of properties for different uses (whether commercial, industrial, residential or other purposes); conducting due diligence to assess the legal and financial viability of transactions; and negotiating and drafting contracts, agreements, and leases. They are experts in zoning and land use regulations, ensuring that clients' projects comply with local laws and regulations. Additionally, these lawyers provide legal counsel on construction contracts, disputes, regulatory compliance, and risk management throughout a project's lifecycle.
The lawyers in the Real Estate & Construction Group often collaborate with transactional, dispute resolution, and insolvency lawyers within their firms and other WLG member firms. They meet quarterly via virtual meetings and sometimes in person at MIPIM and other industry conferences.
